Thou shalt not...

You know what I find a little unsettling? Obvious religious difference aside.

Everyone knows how most games in a fantasy setting have alternative gods and goddesses, right? So, how the heck does that merit someone creating a character just to log onto a server, and not try for any XP or gold or anything, but just to stand there and preach to everyone over shout channels about how they need to turn to the Bible and Jesus. I've had this happen in three games over my online gaming experience, and not exactly being a Christian I never exactly find it welcome.

Look, I'm all for religious expression and freedom, but come on. There has to be a line drawn somewhere, and abusing shout channels is not going to score brownie points with whatever god you believe in, nor with other people. I don't know about you, but I sure don't log onto an online game to hear other people's religious values shoved down my throat; I log on for a temporary escape from reality.

I could turn this into a bigger religious rant, but I'd rather not. Let's just say I'm fairly certain most of the people a person's shouting to have their own religious values and don't feel the need to validate them by interrupting other people's experiences when they could be chatting in-character over something completely different. Like casting Magic Missile at the darkness.
